ALL AGES 2007-08-07 Welcome to the new and improved Voodoo Glow Skulls website! Thanks to our new friends at henchmenproductions.com for making it all possible. It's been awhile since I've done this, and there's alot to catch up on. So here we go... We've been working on our new album for about a year now, recording it in between tours. It's finally almost done! And it is scheduled to be released on Sept. 18th on VICTORY RECORDS (www.victoryrecords.com) It's been the longest we've ever taken on a recording, but we're stoked to be able to do it at our own pace. Once again, we recorded it ourselves at our very own Dogrun Studios in Riverside, CA. Actually, it's Eddie, our guitarist's studio at his home. Where he, the Sapo (our drummer), and Gootzy (our roadie) and Bluto the bulldog all live together. Eddie pretty much produced & engineered the whole entire album on his own. He actually wrote 100 percent of the lyrics too! Everyone else contributed too, but it was mostly Eddie behind this project. For those of you that have been anticipating our new release? The album will be entitled, 'Southern California Street Music' and once again, scheduled for release on Sept. 18th. We have plans to do two FREE in-store performances on the day of the release. One at Midnight in our hometown of Riverside, CA. And a second one in Hollywood, at one of the record chains there to be announced. We'll hope for the best, and see what happens with that. Almost immediately after the album drops in Sept., we will be heading out to do a complete U.S. tour during the entire month of October. We'll be touring the U.S. with Left Alone (hellcatrecords.com) and Knockout (myspace.com/knockoutrock). And also teaming up with Mustard Plug to do some dates on the eastcoast. A European and UK tour with Left Alone, Against All Authority & Random Hand is already booked for mid-November thru mid-December. But for those of you stateside, that absolutely cannot wait until October to see us? The band is doing selective dates throughout the month of August on the way to play the SKA WEEKEND in Knoxville,TN on August 25th. Checkout the tour dates section to see if we're coming anywhere near you. If not, I have one word for you...ROADTRIP! Knockout will be on tour with us in August. Okay, now back onto the subject of the new record. What can you expect? Well, we did our best to deliver another solid punk rock record with obvious ska & latin influences and distinctive hardcore elements that make us the VGS! We're confident that it will be well received by fans. Especially, in this modern day and age of pre-fabricated crap being passed off as punk nowadays. At least we can say that our shit is 100 percent original, and to this date, we feel that no other band sounds like VGS. Word. In other news,...We are sorry to announce that due to personal issues, James Hernandez our sax player cannot tour with us anymore. He's still in the band, but just can't leave home to go on tour. Some of you may've noticed internet ads posted on our myspace looking for a new sax player. The search continues! And we're mainly looking for somebody to replace James when we go on tour. James will be poppin' in here and there to play local shows. We hope that soon, he'll be back with us touring full-time once again. Well, that's pretty much it for now! Thanks to all the bands we played with and people we met at all the shows this time around....we had so much fun, we've decided to return Nov. 15th-Dec.15th for another Uk/Europe tour...check back for updates soon. That tour will be following a US tour scheduled for the whole month of october..... In the meantime, we'll be finishing up production of 15 new tracks for the next CD due out Sept. 18th on Victory Records! |
